The season for bass fishing opens May 28, 2016

Catch and release season for smallmouth bass begins on September 9, 2013.

The largest smallmouth reported by a guest in 2013 was a 21.5" caught by Stephanie Stokes the week of July 13.

Largemouth bass are not as prevalent as smallmouth, but are also found throughout Lake Vermilion. 20" largemouth bass were caught and released in 2013 by Terry Ettner, Terry Hedrick and Drew Lissuzzo all in the week of July 27.
