Lake Vermilion Smallmouth Bass Fishing

The season for bass fishing opens May 24, 2008 and closes September 7, 2008

The possession limit is 6 through September 10, with catch and release only from September 10 through the end of the season.

The largest smallmouth reported by one of our guests in 2006 was 22", caught by Amy Jellema the week of July 17-23. In 2007 there was a tie for largest smallmouth between 2 - 21" fish: John Stodola caught one the week of June 11 - 17 and Phil Banken caught another the week of July 30 - August 5.
