Fishing on Minnesota's Lake Vermilion
Walleye, Musky, Northern, Bass Fishing and more
Minnesota's Premier Canadian Shield Lake
Lake Vermilion fishing offers something for everyone, from the pro to the first time fisherman. Walleye, northerns, large- and smallmouth bass, muskies, crappies, bluegill, and perch can all be found here.
Wide variations in the lake's structure - drop-offs, sand-bottom, rock bottom, sunken islands and reefs - intrigue anglers and offer a fishing challenge. With over 40,000 acres of water, 1200 miles of shoreline and 365 islands to explore, you can have a new fishing experience every day of your visit.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources maintains the lake with a well-managed walleye hatchery, northern rearing ponds, and muskie stocking programs.
Good news for late season fishermen - the marker buoys will now remain on the lake until October 24.
Try out the "Big V" for a fishing experience you will talk about for years!
